Alert: A Data Breach Has Been Reported By The Detroit Zoo!
The Detroit Zoo has confirmed a data security breach involving their gift shop payment system. The third-party operator of concessions and retail services is investigating the breach of their systems implemented at nine zoos, including the Detroit Zoo. Authorities contacted the zoos regarding stolen credit card information. It's believed cards that were used for purchases at the gift shops between March 23 and June 25, 2015 were affected. The Detroit Zoo reports that in addition to credit and debit card numbers, the hackers may have also gained access to card holders' names, card expiration dates and three-digit CVV security codes. Please note the systems used for ticket, food and membership sales were not impacted. If you visited the Detroit Zoo between March 23, 2015 and June 25, 2015 and used a credit or debit card to purchase a retail item, your information may have been compromised. You should immediately review your credit or debit card information and contact your financial institution if you detect any fraudulent activity. Click here for more details.
