Help S2S Support Henry Ford Hospital's Comfort Bear Program!
Did you have a favorite stuffed animal growing up? Chances are if you are reading this blog, you did! Do you have stories to share about a cherished teddy bear from your childhood? Or, perhaps you even still have him tucked away for safe keeping or neatly placed amongst the 20 pillows on your bed.
Teddy bears, cats, dogs, or other favorite stuffed toys bring comfort through the bumps and bruises, a first plane ride, or a scary movie. For some, it’s the one thing that can put a smile on the face of a child or even an adult facing a life-changing medical diagnosis, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.
During the month of July, Shore to Shore is asking, you, our members to donate a new stuffed animal to the Henry Ford Hospital Comfort Bears program. Comfort Bears and other stuffed animals are given to pediatric cancer centers and other hospital emergency locations to help children and senior citizens find comfort during a very scary or uncomfortable time in their life.
How can you donate? New stuffed animals can be dropped off at either location between July 1, 2017, and July 31, 2017. We would love to make this a record-breaking event and help as many people as possible by overflowing our lobbies with stuffed animals!
Please note, due to allergies and compromised immune systems it is very important to bring in new stuffed animals.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please speak with a Shore to Shore team member at 734-675-3100.
